Catherine Barden, CPS

Catherine Barden is the Assistant Director of Community Support for Madison Youth and Family Services where she also coordinates MADE in Madison, a drug and alcohol prevention coalition. Catherine is a Certified Prevention Specialist and a Tobacco Treatment Specialist with over 25 years of experience with volunteering and working in the prevention field. Before coming to Madison, Catherine worked at the Governor’s Prevention Partnership serving as the Program Manager for their Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Department. Catherine also served as the Youth Chair of the CT Coalition to STOP Underage drinking between the ages of 17 and 21, where she found a passion for building strong youth leaders to create long-lasting environmental changes. Catherine has served as a board member of MADD CT, the Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee and the CT Association of Prevention Professionals (CAPP) where she previously served two terms as the President. Catherine is a trained dialogue educator and QPR trainer who has spent the last 20 years speaking at state, national, and international conferences.
